NRL Injury List 2023: Every club's casualty ward

The injuries are starting to pile up with a number of high-profile stars set for lengthy stints on the sidelines. 

Api Koroisau suffered a fractured jaw which has ruled him out for the rest of the State of Origin series, while Nathan Cleary will remain out for over a month with a hamstring injury.

Souths forward Jai Arrow is set to miss up to two months with an ankle issue caused by a hip drop tackle with Royce Hunt also facing an extended period out after being the victim of a hip drop. 

Dolphins enforcer Tom Gilbert has confirmed his season is over as he undergoes shoulder reconstructive surgery, while the likes of Ryan Papenhuyzen and Corey Harawira-Naera remain out indefinitely.

BRISBANE BRONCOS

Selwyn Cobbo (hip) re-aggravated an existing injury in Round 15 and will now miss out on State of Origin Game II, but should return for his club this weekend.

Kurt Capewell (quad) has been playing through injury in recent weeks but will now spend some time on the sidelines with a Round 20 return tentatively scheduled for the backrower to give him time to recover. 

CANBERRA RAIDERS

Corey Harawira-Naera was taken to hospital after collapsing to the turf and suffering a seizure. He has since been released and is undergoing further tests with his return date unknown.

Raymond Faitala-Mariner (illness) is still a couple of weeks away. 

Bailey Biondi-Odo (knee) is nearing his return from an ACL injury with the playmaker expected to be available towards the final weeks of the season. 

Viliame Kikau (pectoral) is still sidelined and won't be back until Round 22 according to the club's Head of Football Phil Gould.

Toby Rudolf (foot) has been out since early April but is nearing a return. 

Royce Hunt (ankle) ruptured his syndesmosis following a hip drop tackle from Christian Welch.

Kade Dykes (knee) has suffered a ruptured ACL and will miss the entire season.

Jeremy Marshall-King (shoulder) left the field during the Dolphins' heavy loss to Manly with a shoulder injury. Brenko Lee (ankle) also limped off in the game and was unable to continue after failing a fitness test on the sideline. 

Sean O'Sullivan (pectoral) remains out after suffering an injury against Brisbane earlier in the season but is expected to return this round.

Felise Kaufusi will return from a three-match suspension this week.

Anthony Milford and Jarrod Wallace both copped bans until Round 19 during their match against the Warriors.

Tom Gilbert (shoulder) left the field early in the State of Origin opener with a dislocated shoulder and will now undergo reconstructive surgery, bringing an end to his season.

David Fifita (head knock) was rested for Gold Coast’s match against the Tigers after showing possible delayed concussion symptoms following Origin I. He should return this round.

Kieran Foran (toe) is expected to return this week after battling through a range of injuries.

Beau Fermor (ACL) will miss the year after injuring his knee on the eve of the new season beginning.

Tom Trbojevic (pectoral) went off after just two minutes of Origin II after reeling out of a tackle on Reece Walsh - he will be sent for scans to assess the severity of the injury. 

Kema Tuilagi (facial) underwent surgery for a facial fracture suffered against the Sharks and will return in approximately a fortnight, the same time as Brad Parker (elbow).

Jake Trbojevic (calf) is expected to remain out until Round 19.

Ben Trbojevic (hamstring) will miss an indefinite period.

Justin Olam (head knock) left the field and failed his HIA during the Storm's Round 14 clash with the Cowboys and is set to return against the Sea Eagles.

Christian Welch (suspension) will return this week after a one-match ban for his hip drop tackle on Royce Hunt. 

Ryan Papenhuyzen (knee) continues to work his way back from a knee injury he suffered whilst attempting a tackle on Jack Wighton last year and has been ruled out indefinitely. 

Dean Ieremia (ACL) has been ruled out for the entire season.

Greg Marzhew (disciplinary) was left out of Newcastle's Round 16 match after failing to meet team standards during the week. 

Hymel Hunt (knee) was ruled out for six weeks after suffering a knee injury. 

Jayden Brailey (knee) suffered an ACL injury early in the year and won't return until 2024.

Rocco Berry (head knock) suffered a heavy blow during New Zealand’s win over the Dolphins and has also been scheduled for a return in Round 17. 

Mitch Barnett (suspension) has been handed a one-match ban for a high shot during his side's win over Canberra.  

Jazz Tevaga (calf) is out indefinitely.

Heilum Luki (facial injury) left the field in Round 16 with a suspected fractured eye socket and will be sidelined for "multiple weeks", according to the club. 

James Tamou (foot) remains out indefinitely, while young gun Tom Chester (knee) suffered an ACL injury in Round 9 and will miss the rest of the year.

Shaun Lane (hamstring) was named in the extended squad for the Eels' Round 16 match against Manly, so is nearing a return.

Josh Hodgson (neck) was a late withdrawal for Parramatta's clash with Canterbury and will remain out indefinitely.

Wiremu Greig (foot) has undergone surgery for a Lisfranc injury and will be sidelined for an extended period. 

Dylan Brown (stood down) is out pending his court case.

Moses Leota missed Penrith's loss to the Cowboys for personal reasons but is expected to return in Round 17. 

Nathan Cleary (hamstring) left the field early in Penrith's Round 14 game against the Dragons and will miss up to six weeks. 

Taylan May (ACL) has been sent for surgery and will miss the entire 2023 season.

Cody Walker (quad) missed South Sydney's Round 15 loss to the Dragons and his return date is unclear.

Latrell Mitchell (calf) was named for NSW but withdrew from the squad just two days into the camp. He is scheduled to return for the Bunnies this round, though.

Cameron Murray has been included in NSW's side for Game II but is still under an injury cloud.

Jai Arrow (ankle) will miss the next 6-8 weeks with a syndesmosis injury after being the victim of a hip drop tackle.

Tom Burgess (back) was a late omission for the Round 11 win with the Tigers after suffering an injury in the warm-up and remains sidelined indefinitely.

ST. GEORGE ILLAWARRA DRAGONS

Jack Bird (knee) has missed two matches after suffering from knee soreness but is expected to return after St George Illawarra's bye in Round 16. 

Jack de Belin (head/neck) was stretchered off during the Round 14 clash with Penrith and will likely return in Round 17.  

Tyrell Fuimaono (hip) suffered an injury in training, and it is unknown when he will return.

Cody Ramsey (illness) has been ruled out for the season as he continues to battle ulcerative colitis.

Luke Keary (jaw) suffered a jaw injury against the Knights but initial scans are positive with the five-eighth being monitored by the club in the lead up to Round 17. 

Victor Radley (suspension) will return this week from his three-match ban for a headbutt, while Joseph Suaalii (suspension) will not be back until Round 18 after being cited for a high knee.

Brandon Smith (thumb) broke his thumb during his side's loss to St George. He has undergone surgery and could miss up to eight weeks of footy.

Connor Watson (knee) suffered an injury during pre-season but is now back in training and he is expected to return to action in Round 20. 

Paul Momirovski (shoulder) has undergone surgery and will be sidelined for around two months.

Sam Walker (knee) has been sidelined for longer than initially anticipated and remains in a brace.

WESTS TIGERS

Luke Brooks (hamstring) limped from the field with a hamstring injury in the Tigers' loss to the Titans and looks set to be out for a month. 

Api Koroisau (jaw) suffered a broken jaw after he copped a forearm from Tino Fa'asuamaleaui while trying to make a tackle. The NSW dummy-half has had surgery and is facing up to two months on the sidelines. 

Charlie Staines (bowel) will miss up to three months after suffering a small bowel perforation against Manly. 

Adam Doueihi (ACL) suffered the third ACL injury of his career and will miss the remainder of the season. The Tigers provided an update giving their star playmaker an estimated recovery time of 12-16 months, which means he could potentially only return midway through the 2024 season.
