Wyndham Clark may not have been the best-known PGA Tour golfer entering the 2023 U.S. Open.

After it, the 29-year-old will certainly be more of a household name.

Clark put on a dazzling display at Los Angeles Country Club as he outlasted Rory McIlroy to win his first major title. His performance proved that he will be a threat at most events on the PGA Tour, including its biggest, moving forward.

Certainly, it has been a weekend that will make his family proud.

Clark has often spoken about his family during his PGA Tour career and how they helped get his golf career off the ground. Here's everything to know about his relationship with his parents and siblings as well as his marital status as golf's largest spotlight shines on him.

Who is Wyndham Clark's father?

Randall Clark is Wyndham Clark's father. His father works as a real estate agent now, but he had a brief career as a professional tennis player.

Wyndham Clark said his father was the driving force behind his interest in golf. The two golfed together frequently and Randall helped his son improve his game during his youth.

"My mom first took me to play golf, but my dad was the one who really got me into golf," Clark explained at the U.S. Open. "He picked it up just a few years prior to me starting at the age of 3. Every time I’d go golf at a young age was with my dad."

There’s so many memories of us leaving at 6 a.m., our family on like a family vacation, and we’d play golf and come back before noon and that was the only way my mom would let us do that. There’s a ton of memories. And then he took me to tournaments.

Additionally, Clark credited his father with instilling in him the qualities needed to achieve success.

"He instilled in me hard work and discipline and I feel like I get a lot of my fieriness from him," Clark said. "My dad is a big reason why I’m out here."

"Hopefully, (Sunday) can be a great Father’s Day for him," he added.

Who is Wyndham Clark's mother?

Lise Clark was Wyndham Clark's mother. She won Miss New Mexico in 1981 and worked as a national sales director for beauty company Mary Kay.

She died on Aug. 2, 2013, at age 55 after a battle with breast cancer. Her death hit Wyndham — then 19 years old and playing college golf at Oklahoma State — hard. He considered quitting the sport, as he recounted to reporters at the Wells Fargo Championship earlier this year.

“I was playing terribly,” Clark said, per CNN. “There’s many times when I stormed off the golf course in qualifying or in tournaments and just drove as fast as I could, I didn’t know where I was going.

“The pressure of golf and then not having my mom there and someone that I could call was really tough for me. Then professionally, I’ve had multiple moments like that where you just, you miss multiple cuts in a row or you feel like your game is good and you’re not getting much out of it and you just contemplate [walking away].

“Max Homa has a great quote: ‘Every golfer’s one shot away from thinking they can win the Masters or one shot away from quitting golf.’ It really is a great quote because that’s the truth. I’m glad I stuck it out and am here now.”

Clark stuck it out and hung on one of the messages his mother delivered to him before each of his tournaments.

Play big.

“When she was sick and I was in college, she told me, ‘Hey, play big,’” Clark said at the U.S. Open, per CNN.

"'Play for something bigger than yourself. You have a platform to either witness or help or be a role model for so many people.'

"I've taken that to heart. When I’m out there playing, I want to do that for her. I want to show everyone the person I am and how much joy I have out there playing and hope I can inspire people to want to be like me and be better than me."

Suffice to say that Lise was one of Clark's biggest supporters. Thus, it's no surprise that he has thought about her often during the U.S. Open.

"I wish she could be here, but I know she’s proud of me, and she’s made a huge impact on my life – I am who I am today because of her," Clark said. "She was kind of my rock and my always-there supporter. So when things were tough or when things were going great, she was always there to keep me grounded and either bring me up or keep the high going.

"I'm getting a little choked up. She’s everything, and I miss her, and everything I do out here is a lot for her."
