Bracket 1 of the 2023 College World Series is down to its final two teams, and it could have a winner as soon as Wednesday.

TCU and Florida are squaring off in a semifinal matchup on Wednesday that the Horned Frogs will need to win to stay alive. They have a 2-1 record in the double-elimination postseason format while the Gators are standing at 2-0 after their first two CWS matchups.

TCU secured its spot in the semifinal after it defeated Oral Roberts 6-1 on Tuesday. The Horned Frogs had previously lost to the Golden Eagles but were able to exact revenge thanks to a strong effort from their pitching staff.

Meanwhile, Florida's postseason record of 10-2 is worse than TCU's mark of 11-1, but the Gators managed to beat Virginia and Oral Roberts in their first CWS matchups. That gives them the upper hand in this one, needing to win just once to advance while TCU needs to win twice to get to the best-of-three championship series.

The Gators won the CWS in 2017 and have had two runner up appearances in it in 2005 and 2011. Meanwhile, TCU has been to the CWS six times but haven't come close to winning it all.

Thus, a lot is on the line for both teams as the college baseball season dwindles to a close.
