Former Vikings running back Dalvin Cook is officially a free agent, but he's in no rush to latch on with a new team.

Cook broke down his thoughts on the future during an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show on Tuesday.

The veteran running back told Eisen that he has had teams reach out to him since his release but added that he wants to take his time to find the right fit.

"I want somebody that wants me to be there and give me the ball," Cook said, claiming that money won't be the deciding factor.

"The money is going to come. If you play good, they're going to pay you. I just want to go somewhere where it feels like it's home to me and help somebody win and just go be me," he said.

That should raise the eyebrows of Dolphins fans, who have seen their team mentioned as a potential landing spot for the four-time Pro-Bowler. Cook is from Miami, so if he's looking for somewhere that "feels like it's home" and is ready to win, the Dolphins could be a natural fit.

Miami has a crowded backfield but no clear-cut No. 1 option with Raheem Mostert, Jeff Wilson Jr. and rookie Devon Achane in the mix.

Even if Cook doesn't care about the money, a decent contract could be difficult to find at this stage of the offseason. Getting paid as a running back is difficult already, and there aren't many teams that could promise the heavy workload Cook is seeking.

Whether the process will be more about Cook determining the right fit or teams determining whether Cook fits in their plans remains to be seen.
