LSU suffered a painful setback against Wake Forest on Monday night. The Tigers saw a 2-0 lead slip away and then struggled to get anything going at the plate against the Demon Deacons' bullpen.

They have a chance to earn another shot at Wake.

LSU will face Tennessee in a College World Series elimination game Tuesday night. The Volunteers are coming off a comeback win over Stanford on Monday.

Tennessee has earned a reputation for not backing down. It has overcome four-run deficits in the super regionals and now the College World Series. With Paul Skenes, Ty Floyd and Thatcher Hurd all unavailable, LSU will have to dig deep into its pitching staff and find a way to get 27 outs against a relentless Volunteers lineup.

A loss on Tuesday would mark the end of the line for Tennessee or LSU. All eyes will be on projected top-two MLB Draft pick Dylan Crews, who didn't record a hit for the Tigers against Wake Forest on Monday and could be playing his final collegiate game against Tennessee.

The winner will advance to the semifinals and face Wake Forest. It would then need back-to-back wins to knock out the Demon Deacons and reach the finals.
